Mononoke Hime Review

No Spoilers Here

Suitable for 18 and under.
Initial Impressions:  My first impression of Mononoke Hime was that it was an Anime version of FernGully.  That actually did not change much as I watched it but with that said, this Anime has a depth all its own.  While my time in this world was only a little over 2 hours long I learned a great deal from this Anime as well.  Things such as valuing traditions, striking a balance between the past and the future, is there such a thing as true evil, and much more are all things that Mononoke Hime hits on during the brief time it is given.

Ergo Proxy Anime Review

No Spoilers Here

Ergo Proxy Vincent an Re-l Cover Poses
Suitable for 18 and under.
Initial Impressions: Initially Ergo Proxy seemed like a rather dark Anime and it certainly did not disappoint by staying a dark Anime all the way through to the end.  Ergo Proxy takes itself very seriously and that is made apparently obvious from the beginning as death and violence seem to stalk the main characters wherever they go.  Do not be fooled by the initial violence though as this Anime has a depth that sets it apart from its counterparts that will leave any Sci-Fi mystery fan glued to their seat and wondering about what it really means to be alive.

Stein's Gate Visual Novel Review

 No Spoilers Here

Steins;Gate Cover Art

Suitable for 18 and under.
In honor of the recent release I decided I might as well create a review for anyone that is interested in reading this really good visual novel.  This is actually one of the few visual novels I have read though that has a fairly good anime to represent it so if you’re coming from that perspective no worries, although the novel is still superior in my opinion.
Initial Impressions: Initially Stein’s Gate actually seemed like it might be a rather light hearted endeavor.  Very quickly though that all changed with the events in the prologue taking a decidedly darker turn and Okabe and his friends being thrown into a mystery that defies the concept of time itself.  Stein’s Gate is definitely not for the faint of heart, although I’m sure you’ll manage, and is an emotional rollercoaster ride that bridges the gap between past, present, and future.

Umineko Episode 4 Personal Review

What follows is what I experienced as I read through episode 4 of Umineko.  While I still plan to make a review about the entire Umineko series combined at a later date, I felt that episode 4 deserved some special attention as it is my favorite up to this point.  So with that said here we go once again on the crazy ride that is my thinking process.  For a little extra assistance in this here is a link to my points of interest article if you want to see how I came up with some of my conclusions: Umineko Points of Interest

Forest Visual Novel Review

 No Spoilers Here

This is an 18+ Novel. My post does not have any adult content but the novel itself does. If you are not over 18 wait until you are old enough before you look at this one. Go and play outside with your friends or take a look at some of the all ages novels or anime out there.

Initial Impressions: If you are like most people you are probably asking yourself what the heck is Forest? Don’t worry though if you are because I had no idea Forest even existed until a friend of mine recommended it. Even then, my initial impression of Forest was actually confusion as it seemed like a very strange Alice in Wonderland interpretation. This initial impression was not that far off and as the novel continued it actually got weirder and even more difficult to understand. It really was not until halfway through, as well as a few drinks later that I finally began to partially understand this novel. That being said I really enjoyed this VN and even now I still cannot completely understand it but I will do my best to try right here and now.

Umineko Points Of Interest

MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ AT LEAST EPISODES 1-4 OF UMINEKO!!!  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

What follows is essentially just a list of what was going through my mind as I read through the first 4 episodes of Umineko.  As you will notice, my points of interest start out as just simple observations and then over time progress into full blown theories as I try to understand the novel more and more.  I personally found coming up with these theories on my own to be the most enjoyable part of the novel up to this point so here they are for anyone that might be interested.   Also, if you are interested in an actual review of episode 4 instead of a list of ideas here is my article where I put my thoughts and feelings together up to that point: Umineko Episode 4 Personal Review
